A clockwork embodies the philosophy behind our work: In order to lay just a single meter of track, a whole series of events, all perfectly coordinated, need to synchronise seamlessly with one another. If just one cog is slightly out of synch, the whole system grinds to a halt.

Anyone who has ever been on a rail construction site will understand how apt the metaphor of a clockwork is.
